Environmental Condition in Guyana

As the country improves its economic status, there are conditions that affect the environment. 80 percent of Guyana is still wilderness; the country has so far sustained little serious environmental damage. Water supplies has been a threatened by sewage and by agricultural and industrial chemicals. The parallel rise of agricultural production together with the growth of industries is resulting in a water crisis. The sewage and agricultural chemicals are the primary water pollutants but deforestation in the area is also a big factor in the equation.Man-made activities affect the northern portion of Guyana borders. Environmental issues in this area have arisen. Fishes once thrive in cerco casa coral reefs are dying because of habitat loss in the certain area. Many endemic species is living in the region of Guyana, but its fast disappearing because of deforestations. Wildlife preservation become now a becoming a hot trend in government agencies of Guyana but unless the movement be reversed quickly, they will not have many species to save in the future.Improving its country is a blessing that uplifts the quality of many people as long as it does not happen at expense of the environment.
